Craig and Suzanne Kuehn
Our Family and Travels
(narration is left to right)
Day 1: The Sea of Galilee from Craig's room, Mt. Tabor, Church of the Transfiguration (Mt. Tabor), Nazareth, Church of the Annunciation (Nazareth), Wedding Church (Cana).
Day 2: Church of the Beatitudes, Jesus Boat on Galilee, and ruins of the Kursi church (base of the Golan Heights next to Galilee)
Day 3: The base of Jesus' ministry was Capernaum. The site is an Israeli National Park. Foreground: the ruin of the synagogue that Jesus where likely preached and the background a later, much larger synagogue. A church that is built over the site of St. Peter's house. The bottom of the church is glass to see the site below. At Yardinit, one of our group, Kesha, baptized a Brazilian woman. We visited a Franciscan school for the children of Jericho. The gray picture is of a bedouin camp on the way up from Jericho. The church at the home of Lazurus, Martha, and Mary in Bethany.
Day 4: Site of Jesus' birth in the Church of the Nativity. Shepherds Fields Church outside of Bethlehem. Sheep grazing across the street of Holy Family Hospital.
Craig went to the Holy Land in January of 2010 on a Clergy Familiarization trip. It was a combination of Episcopal and Church of England clergy and a few spouses. The English group was delayed by a major snowstorm in England by a day. The American group (mostly from California) left Tel Aviv arriving in Tabgha at night. The next morning, Craig saw the sun rise over the Sea of Galilee.
