                Our Family and Travels

We took a river boat cruise from Frankfurt to Rudesheim. Rudesheim is in the German wine country and home of Ausbach, a German brandy. Rudesheim is also home of the Rudesheimer coffee. We left on the Main River, going to the Rhine River, and Rudesheim.

Olympians on the Main? Vineyards on the Main. We went through several locks on the Main -- didn't know the Main had locks on it.

A castle on the Rhine. Kayakers on the Rhine. We believe the building above the vineyards is a winery.

Rudesheim from the boat. And another view with the tram that goes to the top of the hill. A monument commemorates the German defeat of France and the beginning of the German state.

The street that links river side Rudesheim to old town Rudesheim (Suzie in the foreground). The castle in the back is now a wine museum. Vines are even in town.

It took 5 hours to get to Rudesheim by boat. It took and hour and a half to get back to Frankfurt by train.
From l to r: a Frankfurt cathedral on the Main, below the cathedral are river tour boats. Old Town Frankfurt. Frankfurt street performer

l side of photo is old Frankfurt with the financial district next to it. A night at a pub owned by old friends of Jeff & Marian -- it's a jazz pub where people speak German and all the songs are in English. A pub near Jeff & Marian's apartment: Michael got cut off of the photo, then Suzie, Craig, Jeff, & Marian.

Europe 2015

We had not seen Jeff, Marian, and Michael since our 2004 trip to Europe. (Jeff is Suzie's brother.) We thought that 2015 should be the time to visit. So it was off to Frankfurt, Germany.
